When it comes to making a decision about which non lethal self defense weapon is best for you, the choices are not limitless.
The choices basically are:
– A Taser which is virtually 100% effective but expensive;
– A Stun Gun which is about 86% effective but requires personal contact;
– A Pepper Spray which is very effective if you hit the target. Range can be up to 15′-the closer the better for aiming. Wind and rain can affect dispersal.
I have always recommended that folks carry both a stun gun and pepper spray. Why? If you are faced with an assailant from 5, 10, even 15 feet away start with a pepper spray. If that doesn’t stop an assailant then you still have the stun gun.
On the negative side while the stun gun is 86% effective it requires close contact. On the very positive side when in close contact like an assault there is nothing better.
