Who likes earrings? Who likes bracelets? Who likes toe rings? We all have some kind of jewelry we prefer over another. Some days may feel like a crystal hoop earring day. Some days may feel like an emerald oversized bangle day. We all different preferences on different days but we all wear jewelry based on how it makes us feel.
If we did not pull a certain feeling from wearing our jewelry it would not be as important to us. Whether you feel you look better, or more beautiful or more mature or more respectable it is all based on a feeling. I have favorite jewelry therefore I have favorite feelings, and I think we all do.
My favorite traditional jewelry would have to be the Cameo Lady. My great-grandmother used to have several pieces of jewelry that had her on it. People form my Grandmothers generation had a very intimate relationship with their jewelry, more often than the younger generation is experiencing. Some of her precious jewelry were amber stone and others were black onyx, but they were beautiful.
The trends I see emerging today include big hoop earrings, big beaded bracelets, long necklaces, big flashy rings, toe rings, belly button rings, facial piercings, and so many more. Out of all precious metals my favorite among all is white gold and silver. I just do not think that yellow gold looks attractive with my skin tone.
Again, this is all left up to individual interpretation of how you feel a particular piece of jewelry makes you feel. I would imagine, matter of fact I am sure that there are people out there that would see me in yellow gold or anything else I do not feel does me any justice and conclude I look fabulous.
I think yellow gold looks better on a person with darker skin. The best traditional jewelry for dressing up in a gown would be the big gaudy necklaces. Actually I never had the traditional wedding so therefore I never had to pick out my jewelry. If I were to have a big traditional wedding I would more than likely be the simple woman and choose kind of plain and classy jewelry pieces. These pieces might include hoop or dangle earrings. A nice necklace depending on how the top of my wedding dress was cut. Considering that a tiara is considered jewelry I might wear one also on my head with my vale. I have never been really big on jewelry but I do wear simple items.
