How Alcohol Consumption Affects Your Weight Loss

I wish I could write and say just how bad alcohol is. How it makes you feel sick to the stomach and that it tastes like crap, OK it does taste bad. What I’m trying to say is that if alcohol was so bad then no one in their right mind would be caught dead taking a can of beer let alone becoming an addict. This article goes out especially to the people who are struggling to loose some pounds.

If you indulge in alcohol it is no wonder that weight loss for you is becoming harder and harder with each passing day. No matter how many so called wonder diet you go on or how many slipping pills, gels and creams you use, the fact that you take alcohol regularly will just thwart their effectiveness. Here are some of the facts you need to know concerning the relation between alcohol and weight loss.

First and foremost, ever heard of the term empty calories? Well these are the calories with no nutritional value whatsoever. Basically you just stack up your body with what it doesn’t need. It is only obvious that the body won’t want to go around carrying stuff that doesn’t help it. It will therefore use it up as fuel. What’s the badness in that you might ask?

Fat is also a fuel source for the body. The fact that the body chooses to burn these empty calories fast will mean that as soon as it gets the energy it requires, the rest of the fat which hasn’t been burned down will be stored. Most likely around your tummy, ass or thighs!

Alcohol makes all your problems go away. Well, not really. It just makes you think less which in itself becomes a problem. People do the craziest things when they are drunk. You may end up eating things that you wouldn’t have eaten in your right state of mind.

As a matter of fact, bars don’t serve Italian food! All you’ll get is a greasy steak and lots of junk and fast food. In a nutshell, alcohol makes you less objective of the kind of foods that go past your nose.

Alcohol also interferes in the fat burning process as it messes up your digestive system. Yeast practically eats up your stomach’s inner lining and also makes your livers weak. This means that digestion and especially absorption of food won’t be as efficient.

Most of the food will end up stored because their not being used up by the body, this leads to weight gain.
What many don’t know is the effect that alcohol has on your testosterone. While many know that a man is less “potent” when he’s drunk, they never ask themselves why.

Well alcohol lowers your testosterone level which in tern affects muscle development. Muscles are the ones that burn down fat hence less fat is burned down leading to less weight if any being lost. Water does wonders when it comes to losing weight…
